{Mamavation} Monday: Week 10

Normally I would stress over that number.  All that work in the 2 Week Challenge and only a .2 pound change from last week.  That's a 5.6 pound change overall. And technically nothing since my lowest weight before my monthly visitor.  I'm not stressing out this week because, although the scale doesn't show it, I know I've lost weight.  Weight in fat that is.  I'm chalking this up to building muscle and losing the fat.  I'm not making any excuses, but seriously I feel so much better this week and some of my clothes are starting to fit better or are too big.  This is truly how I know there's a "weight" loss somewhere.

Drum Roll please.  JD and I have registered for our first ever 5K run.   Okay not first ever, because technically we registered for the Susan G. Komen 5K this past April, but with no intention of actually running it.  For those that don't know; we are total Disney freaks.  We sort-of started dating at Disneyland, got engaged there, and took our honeymoon to Disney World.  We've been planning on taking a trip next year so what better time.

So... why a 5K, and why now?  I hate to run and in fact for most of my life was told not to run because of my knees.  It's Disneyland people.  Who can beat running as Mickey and Minnie cheer you on the course.  We decided to take the plunge for several reasons.  1, My sister-in-law signed up.  2, We need to build more Cardio activity into our schedule.  3, We want to be a Mamavation Couple.  Number 3 alone was a big deciding factor.  The rules state we have to run a 5K within 6 months if selected.  I figure why wait.  Start the training now and keep moving forward like it's going to happen.

That's exciting news number 1.  I know not as exciting as Leah's big announcement, but ranks pretty high on my scale.  So let's continue with the theme of threes.  Number 2: I started my training Sunday morning for the 5K.  Downloaded an awesome app and completed my first training run.  Just 1 mile to start out with, but surprisingly I felt so energized afterwards.  Last, but not least today is the Final day in the Mamavation 2 Week Challenge.  The last few days of Sweat Monster and doubling up have been killer.

Up for next week.  Continue with my training schedule.  And in case you didn't know, my big man turns 2 on Thursday.  Quite the exciting day.  It's a busy week with Blogger Mixers (sorry I'll miss you guys tonight), finishing up crafting for the birthday party, cleaning house, baking, and cooking.  Just keep repeating with me, "You will survive the week." You will survive the week".

The weather is cooling down significantly this week so evening walks and morning runs will be more enjoyable to fit in.  Can't wait for Fall to hit full force as we tend to head up to the Mountain for picnics and hikes.

  4. Yay!! Congrats!! SO proud of you!

When I ended P90X and stopped exercising for 2 months (yeah, not to good) I LOST weight, and noticed that my clothes didn't fit well anymore, and I had more stomach fat. It's not all about the number :)
