Towards the end of pregnancy our body prepares us for those mid-night wakes and constant sleep deprivation What it doesn't prepare us for is having to stay alert and function in the middle of the night. I am lucky enough with baby boy #2 to have no feeding issues and we are exclusively breastfeeding. This means I'm on my own at night.
I struggled the first few nights to stay awake enough to encourage Emerson to also stay with me and get a good feed in. I didn't want to put the TV on and wake my husband, he does not do well sleep deprived. Can you say walking dead. An attempt to use the flashlight setting on my iPhone was no luck. It had no directionality and I wasn't able to hold and nurse at the same time.
I was so relieved when my Nighty Night Nursing Light arrived in the mail just a couple days after arriving home. We are now off and running thanks to this fantastic mommy invention. Emerson is feeding well and getting in 2-3 hour stretches at night. I'm waking refreshed and can function most days without a nap.
Features:
Clip attaches to nursing tank or bra, also acts as a reminder of which side you last nursed on.
Soft glowing light makes night time feeding easy
Optional vibrate mode to gently wake mom
One lucky Eclectic Momsense reader will win a nursing light. All entries are verified.
What a neat idea! That would definitely work better than my phone!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great baby shower gift! I could definitely have used one of those with my boys. So glad to hear everything is going well with Emerson!
