Cypher Kids Cards it's What's for Christmas!

My kids are well stocked with toys so we've asked the grandparents to hold on toys this year and come up with something more creative. No toys!? Something they have trouble listening to (clears throat).  I'm slowly building up the classroom portion of the toy room at home so anything educational is on my wishlist for the eldest. Flash cards would make a perfect gift or stocking stuffer.

Aiden is very motivated by the iPad and loves any video or app he gets his hands fingers on. I was excited to see that select Target stores carried learning cards with augmented reality. Cypher Entertainment makes a series of flash cards: numbers, letters and wild animals that come to life when you use with the app and compatible iPod, iPad, or iPhone. They disguise themselves as a fun interactive "game" that gives the kids an excuse to access mom or dads iPad/iPhone, but with the added benefit of being educational.target

My son just missed the cutoff for preschool. He's a late September baby so we had the option to late enroll, but decided socially, those boy listening skills, he could use another year at home. Developmentally he's ready. He rote counts to 13, knows most of the alphabet, and loves learning new things. I want to fuel that fire and continue teaching him at home. These cards are perfect for Homeschooling and on the go entertainment. Downloading the app is as easy as pointing your QR reader at the box and selecting the matching cards.

  • #CypherKidsClub's interface is child friendly. My 3 year old was able to easily scan through the cards
independently. What I loved was the use of interactive technology paired with cards for a tactile element. (Let me just say these aren't your run of the mill cardstock flash cards. They are made out of very thick stock that withstands numerous rounds of 52 card pickup.) The home screen allows him to use number identification to scan and match his card.

I love the bright colors that pop right up off the screen.  Aiden had a blast selecting cards and making them come to life all over the house. I know he will be excited to see the other 2 sets in his stocking this Christmas. These are definitely mom and Aiden approved for holiday gifts this year.

  • Shh... It's a surprise. Someone is getting the other two sets for Christmas. I especially love the Wild Animal Cards set. The animals come alive right in the palm of your hand.
